Without our band of willing helpers the XM496 would in all probability have followed the same path as many Whispering Giants. Due to their unstinting efforts the XM496 has now been saved so that future generations can view her in all her glory.

Next public open day, Sunday 5th September,2010

HAPPY FIFTIETH  BIRTHDAY REGULUS

Built by Shorts in Belfast, Regulus made its first flight on 24th August 1960.

On 17th September 1960 it arrived at Royal Air Force Lyneham where two days later it was taken on charge.

FLYPAST  MAGAZINE has marked the anniversary with an article in the October edition, which is on sale on Wednesday, 1st September. If you want to know more, go and buy it.

Don't forget that if you are coming to the Battle of Britain Air Show at the Cotswold Airport, Kemble , 18/19 Sept, you can also visit us. We are on static display and located on our permanent site next to the carpark, as always entry is free although we do accept donations, gratefully
